STEM Internships and Research Experience Before Graduation
If you plan to work in a field related to your STEM degree right out of college, make sure to get into an internship or research assistant position around junior year, if not sooner. It could mean the difference between working for NASA and working in sales. In the next book (chapter), we will learn how to get a job.
At the beginning of the book, I mentioned that a 3.0 GPA (and even a 2.50 GPA) are generally good enough to get into grad school (and get a high paying job) for most PLEM+CS degrees.

PLEM starts where CS stops in math (Linear Algebra + Differential Equations + Modern Physics). CS starts where STEM stops in math (Basic Calculus). CS will move into logic math but doesn’t go into the same math as PLEM does.

GPA, Internships, Research, and Recommendation Letters
However, this depends on what you want to do with your degree. If you want to work for NASA or be part of the team behind the latest iPhone technology or something of that nature, you’d better buckle down and get a 3.8 GPA or higher, participate in internships, research, and anything you can do as an undergrad to gain the approval of professors for recommendation letters and experience.

Leaving disagreeable stupid childish comments on the internet to complete strangers reinforces the chocolate milk and nap time behavior. Don’t be a stupid immature kid. Grow up immediately. College students that troll the internet are statistically averaged to be abusive parents, spouses, and often end up in jail. If you want to disagree and argue, you are not a scientist at all. You are missing the point of science. You would do better in a con artist degree like politics, religion, slang-philosophy, or business. Scientists do not go around acting like two-year-old idiots on the internet. They do their research, and they contribute to society without being littler turd. When you fart, you do not purify the air!
Education, Graduate School, and Career Experience
Also- When I was a teen and even in my early twenties, having a bachelor’s degree was a mere fantasy, and all the jobs that paid well and had good benefits required one. Now, twenty years later, I am in the same boat. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a ton of experience in many areas. Still, now, I need a master’s degree. Hilarious, twenty years down the road, I am in the same boat for finding a job. I have half the M.S. finished, but I prefer to be self-employed and no longer have the energy to pursue a Ph.D. These things are, in general, a young person’s game. So, do it while you have the time and energy because your real life won’t begin until your 40s. It really won’t. Ask anyone. They will likely tell you age 23ish to 38ish was more or less a nightmare.
