From Live Mathematics Session to Permanent Course Material
A live mathematics session should not disappear after the recording ends. One of the goals of the PLEM Academy website is to convert completed research sessions into permanent educational resources that students can return to later.
In this lesson, a previous differential calculus session on optimization is processed and added to the website.
The original session already contains the intellectual work. The publishing process organizes that material into a usable lesson containing the recording, supporting PDF, featured image, written explanation, and membership restrictions.
Preserve the original mathematical work and package it so students can locate, watch, read, review, and study it later.
Step 1: Identify the Lesson From the Transcript
When working through a large collection of recorded sessions, it is not always efficient to manually remember what every video contains.
The transcript can be used to identify the main subject of the session and generate a clear title, short description, and supporting marketing language.
In this example, the transcript identifies the lesson as a calculus optimization session.
This is a practical use of AI because the mathematical lesson has already been created. AI is assisting with organization, naming, and publishing rather than replacing the original mathematical reasoning.
Step 2: Match the Lesson to the Correct Crash Course Volume

Step 3: Export the Original Mathematical Work as a PDF

The public material demonstrates the format. The private archive contains the larger developing research library.
Test Membership Restrictions Yourself
One useful moment in this workflow came when the lesson initially appeared to be missing.
The actual problem was not the HTML or video. The account viewing the page did not currently have the required membership access.
This is why restricted pages should be tested from more than one perspective:
- As the site administrator
- As an active member
- As a logged-out visitor
Each of those users may see something different.
Keep Excerpts Short
The excerpt displayed in the Past Live Sessions archive should be concise.
A very long excerpt overwhelms the archive page and makes it harder for students to scan multiple lessons.
For this workflow, a good rule is to keep the excerpt to approximately one short paragraph.
It should tell the student what the lesson contains without reproducing the entire article.
Organize the Past Live Sessions Archive
Once the optimization lesson is published, it becomes part of the Past Live Sessions archive.
Students can then browse previous material such as:
- Related rates
- Optimization
- Ordinary differential equations
- Research problem solving
- Future mathematics, physics, and engineering sessions
Over time, the archive becomes a searchable history of the developing research program.
Mathematics Can Be Organized in More Than One Place
