Creating the Final Edition of The Ultimate Crash Course for STEM Majors

All right, kids. For those of you who are interested in my Ultimate Crash Course series for STEM majors or PLEM majors, this is the final edition.

I am putting the final editions together into a single book and adding approximately 245 pages of mathematical solutions that I completed over the summer with people as a test for something I was considering doing.

I decided not to continue with that particular idea because it sent the wrong message. However, the additional mathematical material is now being added to the updated version of the book.

I am consolidating everything I have done.

The Order of the Books in the Final Collection

My How to Study Guide is going to be the beginning of the book. After that, I am adding the additional mathematical solutions, The Ultimate Crash Course for STEM Majors, the complete collection of Ultimate Cheat Sheets, and Before Starting Physics.

As I worked through the organization, I decided the primary sequence would be:

1. How to Study Guide.
2. Before Starting Physics.
3. The Ultimate Crash Course for STEM Majors.
4. Additional mathematical solutions and updated material.
5. The Ultimate Cheat Sheet for STEM Majors.

At one point, I also mentioned my I Know I’m Right books and The Daily Dose. Those titles are separate from this final collection and were ultimately removed from the hardcover product description.

Fixing PDF Margins for the Hardcover Book

I am having ChatGPT help fix the margins because the original files were formatted with a spine, which caused the content to shift from side to side.

For the combined print edition, I needed the pages centered with consistent margins of 0.75 inches on every side.

I wanted to make sure the files still contained every page. Some hyperlinks were no longer working after the adjustment, but that was not a major concern because these particular files were being prepared for a printed book.

Previously, the margins were visibly shifted because they had been arranged around a book spine. I needed everything centered before combining the documents into one final edition.

I had also become frustrated and thrown out one of the original documents, which meant I needed to work carefully with the available PDF files.

Checking Each Book Before Combining the Files

After settling on the order—How to Study, Before Starting Physics, the crash course, and the cheat sheets—I needed to check the margins on each individual document.

One of the files initially looked like it might already be centered. When I checked more closely, I could still see the spine offset, so that document also needed to be adjusted.

Once the margins were corrected, my plan was to combine all the files and show everyone what the final hardcover book would look like.

The completed collection would be available either as a physical hardcover or as a package containing the individual PDF documents.

Why I Am Bringing My Mathematics and Physics Work to a Close

This is the end. I am done. I need to move away from college.

I have been addicted to college for approximately 20 years, and I realized that, at some point, you have to walk away from it. I need to walk away from it.

I either need to return to college, complete a PhD, and devote myself wholeheartedly to science, or I need to move on with my life. Right now, I feel caught in limbo because I love mathematics and physics, but I do not necessarily want to spend the next 50 years of my life thinking about them.

I spent approximately 15 years of my life thinking about mathematics and physics. That was enough. I am done. I am good.

There comes a point in every little boy’s life when it is time to move away from college. It is time to move on.

Troubleshooting Downloads and Organizing the Source Files

While preparing the final collection, one of the file downloads failed, so I had to redo it.

I closed Adobe, restarted the process, waited for the corrected file to generate, and then downloaded the updated version successfully.

One of the books was approximately 360 pages, and I was concerned the complete collection might become too large for the available publishing options.

I also needed to remove an older version of the How to Study Guide from one document because the rewritten guide was already going to appear at the beginning of the final book.

After removing that duplicated material, the remaining section—including college algebra—was approximately 334 pages.

I planned to place that material after the main Ultimate Crash Course section, followed by the additional cheat-sheet content, provided everything would fit within the printer’s page limit.

Combining the Books in Adobe Acrobat

To create the final book, I opened Adobe Acrobat and selected:

1. Create.
2. Multiple Files.
3. Combine Files.
4. Next.
5. Drag and drop the individual PDF documents into the correct order.
6. Combine the files into one PDF.

I started with the main documents because the publishing service could handle approximately 1,200 pages.

After combining the files, the completed document came to 1,133 pages.

That was going to be the final edition.

Final Margin Adjustments for the 1,133-Page Hardcover

After the first combined version, I realized the margins on a few additional documents still needed to be fixed.

Specifically, I needed to correct the margins on:

• Before Starting Physics.
• The How to Study Guide.
• Any remaining cheat-sheet or supplemental documents with an offset spine.

The main Ultimate Crash Course document was already in good shape. I also confirmed that the original edition no longer contained the duplicated How to Study Guide.

The remaining cheat-sheet material covered college algebra, trigonometry, and related subjects.

For anyone wondering why I was changing the margins and rearranging the documents, the answer was simple: I was putting together the hardcover edition.

The same individual books would also remain available as part of the digital PDF package.

Once the revised How to Study Guide came through, I checked the pages and confirmed that the margins were finally centered and consistent.

I then organized the corrected documents into a dedicated hardcover file. I also considered offering a paperback version.

Once the revised Before Starting Physics file was ready, I returned to Adobe Acrobat and combined the documents again.

I placed the files in their proper order, separating the additional solutions from the cheat-sheet material and confirming that every section belonged in the correct position.

There were multiple individual documents and a substantial amount of educational material.

Finally, I combined everything into a single book.

All the margins were fixed. Everything was organized. The completed document contained 1,133 pages.

This is the final edition of The Ultimate Crash Course for STEM Majors.

Previewing the Final Book Cover and Interior

After assembling the final PDF, I showed the front cover for the completed edition.

I also considered changing the author name on the cover back to Author Jonathan David.

To preview the interior, I changed the PDF display to a two-page layout.

The final document contained 1,133 pages of educational material, including:

• Mathematical equations.
• Formulas and worked examples.
• Study strategies.
• Guidance on preparing for exams.
• Instructions for writing solutions on examinations.
• Explanations of the differences between mathematics and physics solutions.

I planned to publish the completed collection as a hardcover book and a paperback book, while also making the material available digitally as PDF files.

I then went to my Payhip store to add the final edition for anyone interested in purchasing it.

Creating the Hardcover Product Listing

I am publishing the collection as a physical hardcover product and making it available through multiple locations.

To create the product listing, I requested a square image of the hardcover book with a transparent background so it could be used as a product photograph.

This book contains 1,133 pages built from approximately 15 years as a private tutor, approximately 15 years studying mathematics and physics, and thousands of lessons created for college STEM majors.

I also planned to add the accompanying video as a product preview, along with additional information about the collection.

Correcting the Hardcover Description

While preparing the hardcover product description, I needed to make sure the listing clearly stated that the book contains 1,133 pages.

I also corrected the description to remove references to The Daily Dose and I Know I’m Right, because those titles are not included in the final hardcover collection.

I was sitting in an awkward position while typing, which made it difficult to enter everything perfectly, so I cleaned up the formatting before placing the description into the product listing.

At the time of recording, I set the hardcover price at $249, including access to the video libraries and PDF files.

Shipping Information, Digital Access Codes, and the All-Sales-Final Policy

After purchasing the hardcover collection, buyers will receive an email within 72 business hours containing their applicable purchase and shipping information.
